Wellington High School is the only, co-educational, non-uniform, central city school.  The school is within easy walking distance of all Wellington has to offer – cafes, restaurants, entertainment, sporting and cultural events.

Established in 1886, this innovative and vibrant school has a long history of welcoming international students.
Currently there are students from Argentina, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Cambodia, China, Chile, Japan, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Vietnam, at Wellington High School.  Wellington High School offers a varied choice of subjects, high quality teaching, small classes and individually tailored programmes.

The excellent facilities include two gyms, a brand new commercial hospitality suite, music recording studios and a radio station, several computer suites, a large well resourced library, four floors of science laboratories and a large playing field and tennis courts .  Our homestay parents are kind, inclusive and experienced.

Students can participate in many different sports, arts, music and cultural groups and join outdoor education trips within New Zealand and overseas cultural exchanges to places such as Nepal, Italy, Japan and Indonesia.
