Garin College is modern Catholic school for boys and girls. We are known as a “small school with a big heart”. All the teachers know all the students and there is a family atmosphere. We have a small international student programme and aim to have no more than 6 students from the same country. All classes are with NZ students so it is easy to make friends. Our ‘Adventure Leadership Outdoor Education’ course is very popular European students. All homestays are within walking distance of the school unless you want to live on a farm.
Garin College is located in Richmond 10 minutes drive from Nelson Airport. The Nelson region has the highest sunshine hours in New Zealand. It is famous for the beautiful beaches, mountains, seafood, wine and arts culture. The lifestyle is relaxed and there are awesome outdoor opportunities – swim, kayak, kite surf, white water raft, 3 national parks, sky dive or just enjoy the friendly people. Richmond has everything you need – shopping mall, restaurants, aquatic centre, library and sports clubs.
